Daily things: armpit lump scare, Alva Noto, Señor Coconut, Parralox, Igorrr live

I'm so late with the blog. I am weaning myself off Cymbalta and I think I got very depressed from it on Friday. I also had a migraine and was dead worried because I found a lump in my armpit.

Since then I saw the doc who said it had nothing to do with breast tissue or lymph nodes but was probably a cebaceous gland infection due to my shaving. I have an antibiotic cream for it, and I'm not supposed to shave until it's gone.

Music

On Thursday I was in an IDM/Raster Noton mood, so I listened to a lot of Hecq, Kattoo, Alva Noto, Atom™... I also introduced Math to Señor Coconut. Haha. It took him a while to identify the first song he heard. :D

On Friday I was super depressed, with a migraine, I couldn't even muster the energy to put some music on for most of the day. Then in the evening I remembered it was the day the new Encephalon was released, so I bought it and played it and it helped. :) I went to bed and listened to Mondkopf for a little while.

I was better on Saturday morning, and being reassured by the doc helped some more. I also got to be outside for the second time of the week, which always does me good. I'm so bored at home. We went to a café to have coffee with Math on the way back from the doc, it was lovely. I listened to some Parralox, Encephalon again, and then Clémentine came over a quick meal and a beer. I made her listen to Agent Side Grinder, which she loved, because I won't be able to attend their show next month (since I will be in Toulouse getting my tattoo done, eeep) but I figured she might want to go.

Concert (this is basically a copy-paste from my Tumblr entry)

I wasn’t sure all day I would be able to make it but I did: Clémentine and I attended the Igorrr & Ruby My Dear live show on the Petit Bain boat (in the 13th arrondissement of Paris). I took my crutch and went in a taxi.

The show was insane. So insanely loud the boat rocked even before people started jumping around in the pit. My head started pounding but it quickly receded, luckily for me. Ruby My Dear is hilarious, on top of being awesome breakcore. Igorrr came on stage to join him after his set, with the female vocalist (omg her singing is mind-blowing, and she’s rad as fuck too). They played “Barbecue” and “Alain” from Maigre.

Then Igorrr took over the stage, the male vocalist joined and the crowd went even crazier. I was in the pit for a good bit of RMD but fled when it became too crowded (people were in general super nice when I waved my crutch and backed off enough that I could have some space). I went to the side of the room near the stage for Igorrr and I have to say the sound was very very good everywhere in the room (even at the bar, where removing your earplugs was still not a sane idea).

At some point I started to feel really sore, so I tried to sit on the ground (people were way calmer on the sides) and the backstage bouncer waved me to sit on the side of the stage. :3 That was sweet, especially since he was tough as nail at shooing people away when they stepped too close to the backstage entrance. I was very tempted to pop a valium for my joints but I figured getting my large meds bag in front of the bouncer wasn’t such a great idea lol.

Took a selfie before wiping my face off, because I looked rad as fuck.



This morning, my joints are quite sore. My leg isn’t too happy with me but I iced my everywhere and I’m better now. Nothing too bad. A bit of a headache too but nothing paracetamol and valium won’t fix.

Went to bed listening to Empusae – Sphere From The Woods, definitely a favourite for sleepytime.
