Better news on the health front
The Valium the doc has prescribed for the back pain is working and giving me a great amount of relief. I'm feeling like my old self again, more or less. It's amazing. I had reached a point where the pain was such it was driving me insane; I was unable to focus on anything and sometimes about to scream. And I never, ever had any drug have any effect on my back pain before. So, again, this is amazing. And it's not making me drowsy, and it can't hurt my mood either. I feel rather more energetic when I take it and the pain lifts off.
I'm supposed to take it daily for 2 weeks, and hopefully this will do to unclench my back and take it back to where it doesn't feel like a wooden board through and through (seriously, two days ago, the muscles along my spine where as hard as bone).
It does help a little with the shoulder pain too (or is it the Cymbalta? Doubt it, it's a bit early) so I'm not as much in pain at night when I sleep on it. The first night on Cymbalta was uncomfortable (nausea and agitation) but last night was better. I ate a bigger meal before bed, which probably was a good move, because I also felt super hungry on the first night.
Let's be real, my leg and shoulders are still in the same state, and it's going to be a long road, still. But if I can keep my sanity while dealing with recovery, and not being curled into a ball from the pain, BIG WIN. I'm so, so happy to finally have a drug in my arsenal that relieves my back pain. I won't hesitate to take it for a couple days in the future if I feel my back cramping up.
Music
Listened to Fear Factory under the headphones while Math was sleeping. Once he woke up, we put Wychdoktor – Totem, Forma Tadre – Automate, I put a few energetic tracks to get us started and we had lunch listening to :Wumpscut: (nothing like a good song about the plague to open your appetite :P). Then some Architect, Autechre.
Food
That was the last day of the bourguignon. There was just sauce left and a few bits of vegetables. So Math made pasta and added them to the sauce. Delicious!
Watching
I watched a comedy! Means I'm better, hehe. La Tour Montparnasse Infernale. I'd already seen it several times forever ago. That was ridiculous. Just what I needed. I love Marina Foïs in this. I didn't remember so many “gay jokes” though. :/
Reading
Read a little bit, although I was quite tired. Fell asleep listening to Haujobb – Ninetynine. :)
You guys can try listening to this even if you're not into my usual oontz or hash stuff, this is mellow and fantastic
