I found a lovely transparent wool jersey and I thought it'd be perfect for a layer dress using the pattern n°2 from Drape Drape 2. I used the S/M size since the cowl tunic came out a bit big and my jersey is very stretchy. Making a bias out of this sheer fabric was a nightmare, so I ended up doing a rolled hem, hence the super thin straps, which I like, and the very low armholes, which is ok since I wont wear the dress on its own (it's as good as being naked, really). I used starch to prevent the hems from rolling like crazy before sewing.

I wasn't 100% convinced of the shape and I found out that wearing it back to front gave me a better drape (no idea why). I actually made a mistake and cut it on the reverse of the fabric so the drape was on the wrong side (which... I really don't care about) and so it's back on the "normal" side lol. The neckline is lower in the back and higher in the front, but, yeah, I don't care either way.

Health

I'm just out of the woods after a fairly difficult week It's probably the sudden weather change, but I've had real bad joint pain. I skipped a workout entirely, made two others easier on my joints, and cut down the walking for a few days. I'm better now, although still very tired (I sleep so much, omg, over 9 hours a night, it's insane).

Perfume

Wearing Dzing today, and I wore Black Orchid yesterday. Cool days are better for perfume, even though I never wear a lot of it.

Music

I might have found the new Haujobb before its official release. I don't have too much qualms about it since I've already pay for it (well, do do, still, otherwise I wouldn't mention it. I'm not sharing it either, because people should also pay for it). It's very very good. Very angry too, which is new. Anyway, I'm a happy camper, even though I wonder where this new found patience of mine has gone.

I've spent the two past evenings listening to Seeming, Rome, The Present Moment. Quieter stuff. And a lot of synthpop during the day, especially for sewing mojo.

In other myeresque news, I've been playing the Architect, Sonic Area & Hologram collab a lot. It's really brilliant, albeit too short. You can distinctly hear everyone's style blending seamlessly, it's really special.

Watching

We watched the finale of the Great British Bake Off yesterday and I'm delighted with the results! I'm also one finale away from being caught up with the Sewing Bee. The last season is a lot more challenging than the two before. They made corsets, kilts, wow! I'm learning a lot.

I'm in the middle of a Scudder, a particularly depressing one, I must say. It's touching a lot of sensitive subjects for me. I still enjoy it but I'm sorta impatient to finish it so I can start Ancillary Mercy.
