Health

I was pretty exhausted on Monday and spent a cosy day home recovering from the weekend. I had a lot more energy yesterday. Also, I just completed a workout, yay me! I hadn't exercised in two weeks (omg, I didn't realise it had been that long) and even then, I slowly slipped to once a week instead of two. Holding a 3 minutes plank was tough today, but I did it (well it was 2:57 rather, because my lower back started protesting and the goal is to make me feel better, right?).

Music

I'm making a Synthpop mixtape, which I started listening to while working out. Flows good so far.

I've listened to a TON of Kirlian of course, since the concert, and more precisely their latest "Best Of" which is unusual for me but that's basically what they played live so it's pretty nice.

Being in a goth club (which hadn't happened to me in 15 years) for the concert brought back tons of memories and I gathered tons of tunes from the period I used to frequent those (95-02 ish). I don't think I'll make a mixtape out of these but I'm happy to share titles if anyone's interested. I'm also, as always, very interested in how different songs were popular depending on the country or city, so feel free to share the songs you remember being played back then (less obvious examples, rather than "Headhunter" and "Bela Lugosi's Dead").

The new Kangding Ray, Cory Arcane, is out. I have listened to it a few times and I really like it. It's different from Solens Arc but very much in the same spirit. The sound design is gorgeous.

Photography

I finally got in front of the camera yesterday. It made me feel good. I still try not to use any artifice to make me look different than how I am (no sucking my tummy in, no retouching), I just try to bare it all and show emotion. The photo's here (it's a full frontal nude, just so you know).

Crafting

I took a little break from sewing. But I wore my new drop crotch shorts a hell of a lot and I love them to death. So much for a potential fail, right? I might get started on the Guise pants today. Everyone I talked to agreed that I should line them, so I'll try! There's tons of tutorials online.

I'm also halfway through the first sleeve of my Thoughts. This thing is interminable. I don't mind at all. :)

Watching

We went to see Crimson Peak yesterday, Clémentine and I. I'm just going to copypaste what I wrote on FB:

Crimson Peak was just magnificent. I generally do NOT enjoy Del Toro (Pan made me really angry with its cheap emotional manipulation) so my expectations were moderate.
Well, it's a feast for the gothic horror lovers. Just gorgeous, from set design, to wardrobe, from lighting to every single frame. He really captured the spirit of the gothic novel and every scene filled me with glee.
It's been a long time since I've been contemplating buying a DVD/Blue Ray on its release.
