Music
Woke up listening to Last.fm suggestions for a little while (mostly rhythmic noise, idk, I feel I listen to a lot of synthpop but the website disagrees). Then V▲LH▲LL, Covenant, Endif, DSX, TR/ST and Architect.
We played our musical blind test and Math used my last.fm stats to make me guess my own stuff, which was interesting (and unsurprisingly I'm good at it, even though I listen to 5 new bands every day), because my mind made associations I wouldn't have made when knowing which band it was: for instance, he played some Dead When I Found Her to make me guess, and my mind jumped right to FLA when consciously I never made the link (probably because they're so different thematically). I know my judgement can get really influenced (by visuals, interviews, reviews) which is why I tend to listen to music blind in general and go look for more info if I feel like it afterwards (I had no fucking clue who the TR/ST people were and what the hell their music was about before the concert, I still don't really know, but I like it fine). That's also I think why I like digital media more than CDs nowadays. You don't get all the extra whoopla if you don't want it. I appreciate a nice booklet (the Haujobb one are super, for instance), but I don't want it to be the first thing I see. I'd rather just hear the music to have an unbiased opinion. Dunno if that makes sense.
Food
Not much food really but I could finally have a coffee with crazybutsound despite our crazy schedules and illnesses and we could catch up on life a bit. We went to a brasserie on rue de Belleville where I have the vague memory of going to with
anatsuno eons ago.
Watching
Math and I were supposed to go see Jupiter Ascending last night but my neck is rather badly jacked up after the concert so I felt the movies really wouldn't help. So we stayed home and watched Hannibal (I can lie down in front of the beamer on top of a heatpack, which is just perfect for my neck <3). Mild spoilers ahead: We're mid season, got the Lance Henriksen cameo (Biiishopp!), the first appearances of Gillian Anderson, and the final episode with Tobias. I think the violin man is one of my favourite kills in the whole series, it's quite poetic and beautiful. And Tobias embodies nicely the canonic high profile serial killer type with a creepy basement. The score of the episode, with the ominous strings, is great too.
