Wore Fleur D'Oranger again. And a bright orange dress. :D
I bought some nice sandals and it's a relief! I can't wear any closed shoes when it's hot without getting tons of blisters. Even older shoes, wide and flat, even with talcum, or blister balm, or stockings. I am just in pain all the time. So, sandals it is. I found some which were all leather, super comfy and relatively affordable. It took about 10 minutes in the shop too.
Music
I listened to new stuff thanks to the tracks of the week on ID:UD (I was a few weeks late) and BecomingTheDevourer landed on my Bandcamp wishlist. I am also very impatient for the next Winterkälte!
We listened to Warpaint, Somatic Responses, the new High-Functioning Flesh (didn't really get into it, maybe not the right time?) and Azar Swan.
Out and about
We went to a butoh show by choreographed by Emiko Agatsuma of the Dairakudakan company at the Maison de la Culture du Japon. It was incredible. I love butoh so, so much. It is so riveting and intense. I've never seen a butoh performance that didn't shake me to my core. I love the music, the noise, the powder, the smell, the white bodies that seem to move at the same time effortlessly and with athletic strength, naked and fleshly, unhuman and tortured.

The theme of play, called Ode A La Chair, was femininity, its most physical details and its spiritual essence and societal aspects. The first tableau had on one hand dancers suspended in individual nets, rocking gently and progressively starting to jolt and contract, and in the background, dancers hanging on a wall, prisoners of a transparent membrane, which they slowly tore through. It's hard to describe how poignant and real it felt.
This first birth tableau is the one that moved me the most. We talked this morning with Math and it's interesting how we took different things from the play. The theme of menses was present during the whole performance and as I am very conflicted about being an uterus-being person, I read a lot of unrest and pain from what I saw.
We're going back next week to see the other play they're showing. This one will have 22 dancers! The one from yesterday had 10 and I don't think I ever saw butoh with that may performers at once. Mostly solo or couples of dancers. I'm very curious!
