Health

Well, I saw my new gynaecologist yesterday and it's like a huge weight has been lifted. I'm slowly surrounding me with a team of doctors that I like, that listen to me, understand me, and try to work with me towards a better health and well-being. I love my GP, I love my rheumy (despite a shaky start), my dentist, my PT. I don't like my internist much though, and that is a problem given that she should be the one supervising treatment of my auto-immune illness. But my GP is very competent, so for now, it'll do.

Music

I walked to the gyno listening to a playlist I've made recently for my ipod. Very energetic stuff (Grendel, ESA, some Klangstabil remixes, Seeming...). Hard not to bounce while walking or break into a dance. :D

I also listened to Curve, the new Synapscape, and did some sewing listening to Grendel, Haujobb and ESA. In the evening we listened to Tuxedomoon - Pink Narcissus and Yes - Close To The Edge.

Crafting

I finished the tunic, with a great deal of trouble. Once the shoulders and side seams were assembled (and the armholes finished, le sigh) I tried it on and realised the draped cowl fell way too low (at underbust level, so VERY low). I have tiny shoulders! Time to get serious and start altering patterns from the get go!

So I picked apart my armholes finishings D_: and added about 1 cm to the shoulder seams (both sides), hence taking the neckline to a more proper level (it still isn't too modest, but I'm fine with my bra peaking, vs. MY BOOB FALLING OUT). The sleeves are a bit weird, stiff and wavy. I used starch to assemble them, so I have to see how they are once laundered (it's in the wash right now, as there is no way I could have worn it with the super strong laundry detergent smell). I don't see myself redoing the sleeves anyway, so it'll be chalked up to "lesson learned" whatever the outcome. The sleeves were finished with a bias, so I could have foreseen the stiffness with a bit more experience. Next time! :)

I'm planning to make jersey shorts from the "I Love Pants" book (I considered doing them in the same gray jersey, but NO WAY). And then more complicated carrot pants from the same book. I'm worried about the fit!

Sewing is terrible for my back though. My back support belt isn't miraculous either. So I really have to take a break at least for a couple of days. Meh.

Food

I went by the cheese shop on my way back from the gyno and bought some delicious things! This shop is wonderful and the staff so nice. The rue de Belleville is getting more and more gentrified (the "no-go zone", you know?) which is a problem, because it's already almost impossible to find an affordable flat in Paris, but we're benefiting to a ton of lovely shops replacing slowly the cheap Chinese clothing stores. A new bakery has opened too and their bread is delicious. We didn't have decent bread in the neighbourhood before that, really.

Watching

We're still watching Sense8. We saw eps 7 and 8 yesterday. It's great, lots of diversity and smart storylines, but I can't get fully into it. The dialogues are often clumsy at best, that's my biggest issue.
