Reading
I purchased Ancillary Sword. I need to let Ancillary Justice sink in a little bit I think but AS is ready to fire. :)
Music
I read a review of the E-only festival and particularly of In Strict Confidence's show, which prompted me to listen to old ISC stuff (mostly Love Kills!). Sometimes I feel like I'm reveling in nostalgia too much, like it's unhealthy, but let's be serious for a minute and consider what I'm listening for a second. Yeah, no, nostalgia isn't much of a factor most of the time. And a little bit of nostalgia is nice, isn't it? I've always hated my choices and my past, it's nice for once to remember things in a positive light.
I stayed home all day (except for a visit to the doc for my ear infection) and listened to some Skinny Puppy, Squarepusher, Nitzer Ebb, Killing Joke, DSTR, Coil, Clan Of Xymox, Chris & Cosey, Oil 10, Vomito Negro, Haujobb. Yeah, maybe a bit more nostalgia today than usual, hehe.
Watching
We watched Hannibal. Two episodes to go before the end of season one. Mild spoilers: I love the Georgia Madchen episode. And of course Gideon's return. Both Georgia and Gideon echo Will's state of confusion and the sense of having one's identity slipping away. It's interesting how Gideon's character portrayal shifted from grandiose and theatrical to hesitant and erratic, when his action are essentially very similar. The devil's in the details.
