Perfume

Wore Dzing by L'Artisan Parfumeur. Like most perfumes on my skin, it stays pretty dry, and I love it's leathery and feral notes.

Music

So yeah, I listened to Die Propheten by Das Ich in the morning. That was fun. It's most interesting to realize that I really don't listen to music the way I used to. I don't pay attention to the same sounds, don't like the same tracks, and so on.

Then I listened to The Haxan Cloak, ESA, Mr. Kitty – Entwine. I played Ninetynine by Haujobb and the cat just kept yelling at the top of her lungs. I think she's one of the haters who are still not over this album. (Nah, she just missed her master who works on site on Wednesdays :P)

Listened to Kangarot, Oil10, Mlada Fronta, and worked a bit on the next mixtape.

Watching

I watched Jane The Virgin and The Code during lunch. In that order, which is a mistake. The Code is getting heavier, with torture bits (not super awful, but scary) so I think JTV afterwards would be a good move.

And so, I didn't go to have coffee outside because I realized I had the Carpenter Brut concert in the evening! And that would be far enough walking for a day (and then some, yeah). Unfortunately, Physalis was not feeling very well so she had to cancel and offered me her tickets. I contemplated going on my own (I'd love to be confident enough to go to concerts alone but social anxiety is a bit too strong at the moment) but Math offered to join and I was glad to have his company. CB is not his thing much, but we both figured it could be nice to go out together, since it had been a super long while, and he was a bit curious to see what sort of show it would be and what kind of audience would attend, I think.

We went late-ish, eating Bánh mì on our way, and missed most of the opening DJ set. I didn't know the Social Club (near Bourse), which is a weird small club with two rooms and a big alley/bar in between, and two sound systems (I don't know if they operate them at the same time playing different stuff but it gives me nightmare thinking about it).

Apparently, a vast majority of Carpenter Brut fans are metal fans. That's interesting! I remember how synths were reviled in the hard rock community at large back in the days when I listened to Metallica and Sepultura. It's cool if this means things have changed. As soon as the band showed up, things became predictably pretty wild, including a fair amount of crowd surfing. We retreated a bit further back, because with both shoulders injured the situation seemed quite ridiculous.

CB have electronic drums and a guitar on stage (I can't say more about the lineup because I literally couldn't see anything as the stage was 50cm high). Unfortunately the sound was not good. The band had technical issues, the bass were so loud they drowned everything. Thank fuck for ear plugs. Yeah, I sound grumpy but I danced quite a bit (bobbed more like, with the bum leg lol) and was happy to be out.

Since my neck and leg were starting to hurt, we left after “Anarchy Road” and took a taxi home. No damage to myself to report today, so win!

Reading

Read a bit and went to sleep listening to Black Rain.
